About Us
Our temple has been a symbol of faith, resilience, and community since its inception in 1981 in the peaceful town of Kachingiro. Serving as a spiritual home for many, the temple was unfortunately closed following the tragic 1994 genocide. However, with unwavering devotion and collective effort, the temple was renovated and reopened in 2001. By 2003, all traditional events and religious activities were fully restored, bringing life and spirit back to our community. In 2004, we took a significant step by deciding to expand the temple, aiming to accommodate the growing number of devotees. Until January 2019, all programs continued to be conducted at the original temple in Kachingiro. In 2008, the government requested the relocation of the cremation site from Rebero, which led to the establishment of a new cremation ground in Nyamata, Bugesera in 2009. At the same time, we envisioned a new temple in Rebero. A fresh constitution was drafted and officially notarized in 2011, in compliance with government regulations, and we received our RGB certificate. The construction of the new temple began in August 2017, and by February 2019, the dream became reality with the grand inauguration of the new temple in Rebero. Today, the temple stands not just as a place of worship, but as a beacon of hope, unity, and cultural preservation for generations to come.
